Victorian Mahogany Wellington Chest
A good example of a mahogany Wellington Chest dating from the late 19th Century. It is a traditional design with 6 drawers flanked by square pillars with carved corbels. The right hand pillar is hinged and locks the drawers in place when closed. It is a well made and a good quality piece with beautiful flame mahogany drawer fronts, oak lined drawers and turned knobs.
It is in good condition and displays well with a lovely rich patina. There are some signs of age and use with some minor marks and knocks, small chips and a couple of the knobs are chipped but overall it displays well. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and open smoothly and it comes with a working key. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.
