Victorian Mahogany Drop Flap Work Table
A lovely small mahogany drop-flap work table dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It stands on elegant turned tapering legs with brass castors below. There are two drawers at one end of the table with turned knobs and matching dummy drawers at the opposite end. The drop leaves are supported by small hinged wooden flaps.
It is in good condition and displays very well. It is strong and sturdy and in good order with a nice rich colour. The leaves are flat and easy to put up and the drawers open smoothly. There are some minor marks and signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. There is some historic worm below the leaves in the supporting flaps which has all been treated as a precaution. The table has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
