Edwardian Oak Roll Top Tambour Desk
A lovely oak roll top desk dating from the early 20th Century with an attractive tambour front. The desk has a kneehole on the left-hand side, flaked by 3 graduating drawers and one above, each with shaped wooden handles. The tambour front rolls back to reveal a fitted interior with a series of small pigeon holes and drawers. The sides and back are nicely panelled and it stands on small castors.
It does not come with a key but the tambour front can be opened and closed without fear of it locking.
It is in good condition for its age and the roll top opens and closes smoothly. The interior is generally clean and tidy and all the drawers open well. It is not without some signs of age and use, some light marks, minor old knocks and small stains here and there but no major damages and overall it displays well. Some of the back panels have minor old shrinkage splits but really nothing untoward for a piece of this age and overall it is strong and sturdy. The desk has been cleaned and given a light wax and polish and is ready for use.
