A good example of a large oak dresser base dating from the late 19th century. It has a thick planked top and there are two deep drawers above a planked potboard base. Each drawer has turned wooden knobs and the dresser stands on block feet. It is a useful narrow size and is a good quality country piece with lots of character.
It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. It is not without some signs of age and use and some light marks and old stains on the surface but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. The back of one knob is chipped and the drawers have some old stains but are generally clean and tidy and open smoothly. It has been given a clean and gentle polish and is ready for use.
