Product Details

A good example of an early 20th century stacking mahogany bookcase. It has three glazed sections with an 'up and over' sliding door. It is a good quality piece with a nicely finished plinth and a shaped cornice with dentil moldings. The brass lock plates are stamped "The Lebus Bookcase".

As is typical with these pieces each section splits down so it can be easily transported.

It is in good condition for its age and the mahogany has developed a lovely rich patina. It is not without some signs of age, some general light marks and knocks but no major damages. There have been a couple of small repairs to chips on the side (see photos) but it isn't detrimental and it still displays well. The bookcase has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
