Product Details

A good example of a French drop leaf table, dating from the mid to late 19th Century. The table has a beautiful planked fruitwood top and stands on four turned legs with castors below. It has two hinged leaves which are supported by wooden arms that pull out below the leaves.

It is a good size, big enough to seat 4 comfortably with the leaves up and small enough to put away against a wall with the leaves down.

The table is in good condition for its age with a beautiful patina and a lovely warm colour. There are signs of age and use, some marks and knocks and some old repairs here and there but nothing untoward. It has suffered from woodworm over its life and there are some old holes below the top and around the base of one leg but it has been throughly treated and the table is strong and sturdy. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
