A large and good quality mid Victorian oil painting showing a figure and cattle beside a river in a beautiful countryside landscape. It is very well executed with lots of detail and is signed 'W.Widgery' to the lower left corner.
It is framed behind glass in its original ornate giltwood and gesso frame with a gilt slip.
The painting is in excellent condition for its age and the colours are bright and vibrant with no major damages. The gilding on the frame is clean and bright with a few small losses and knocks but nothing detrimental or untoward.
