A good example of an original Railway Brake lantern dating from 1944. It has a black painted metal casing with a carrying handle and a rear fixing bracket. It has a large red glass lens in the front and its original oil burner inside. It is stamped "J&R. 1944".
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. There are some signs of age and use, some wear to the paint in places, some surface knocks and light scratches and dinks but nothing detrimental or untoward. There are no major damages to the glass. The burner has not been tested but I see no reason why it would not work. The lamp has been lightly cleaned and is ready for use.
