Product Details

A very nice example of a genuine military issue WW1 era pocket compass. The rim is stamped "Verner's Pattern VIII" and the reverse is stamped "F-L No.107899 1917 ->". The compass top opens up to allow the sighting line to be used and there is a catch on the side to hold the dial in place. It comes in its original protective leather case.

The compass is in good condition for its age. The outer has picked up signs of age and use and some lights surface marks but no major damages and the glass is in good condition. The dial is clean and clear to read. It displays very nicely and it appears to be in working order although I cannot say for sure how accurate it is. The leather case has some scuffs and wear around the edges but the strap is in good order and there are no major damages and it displays well.
