Vintage Mamod SE1 Stationary Steam Engine
A good example of an original Mamod SE1 model Stationary Engine, dating from the mid 20th Century. The engine is set on a raised metal base and has a flywheel connected to a single piston. The boiler is brass and sits on pressed housing and below the boiler is the original triple wick fuel burner.
The whole piece looks like it has been very well cared for and looked after. I personally have not had it in steam but I have tested the mechanics by way of a small air compressor and everything moves as it should.
Generally it is in very good condition for its age. The boiler is free from any major dents or corrosion. There is some tarnishing and some general wear and tear marks but nothing major. The metal base has some knocks and paint losses and small areas of rust but nothing detrimental. The engine has been lightly cleaned and oiled and displays very well.
