A beautiful walnut wellington chest dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It is a fantastic quality piece with 7 drawers in total, each with turned wooden knobs and dovetail joints. The drawers are flanked by two hinged wellington style pillars with carved corbels and the right hand pillar comes with a working key to lock the drawers in place.
It is in very good condition for its age with a lovely rich patina. There are some signs of age and use and the chest has picked up some small knocks and marks over the years and there have been some small repairs to chips in the veneer here and there overall it displays well. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open smoothly. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
