A superb example of a walnut table cabinet dating from the late 19th century. It is a simple elegant design stood on a plinth base with a slab top and inlaid strung decoration to the doors. It comes with a working key.
The doors of the cabinet open to reveal three drawers with inset brass military style handles. The drawers and even the inside of the doors are beautifully veneered in a rich walnut. Each drawer is divided internally into two sections.
The whole piece is in very good condition and although it has been used it has been well looked after over the years. The wood has developed a lovely rich patina and the interior is clean and tidy. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside, general signs of age and use and a small shrinkage split to one side (see photo) but overall it displays well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
