Victorian Walnut Framed Armchair
A good example of a large Victorian armchair dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It has a nice shape with a partly exposed walnut frame, beautiful scrolling arms and bulbous turned and reeded legs with its original brass 'Cope Patent' castors.
It is a good quality piece and very solidly made. The chair has been upholstered relatively recently in a good quality woven beige chenille-type fabric with a matching braid edge. It has a deep buttoned back and the fabric compliments the chair nicely.
The chair is in good overall condition and is strong and sturdy. There are a few minor marks and some wear on the upholstery but nothing detrimental and the frame is solid. There are some general signs of age and use around the frame and legs but no major damages and it displays beautifully.
