A fine example of a beautiful Victorian jewellery box. The outer of the box is a lovely walnut with ornate tunbridge style parquetry inlaid borders. It also has a central diamond shaped cartouche and matching escutcheon and it comes with a working key. The interior has been lined with a pretty decorative paper and it has a fitted lift out tray.
It is in very good condition for its age and has clearly been well looked after. There are some minor signs of age and use, some light surface marks and a few old repairs but nothing detrimental and overall the piece displays beautifully. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
