A good example of a small Victorian Sterling Silver vesta case. It is decorated all over with an unusual ribbed pattern and it has a hinged lid with a ribbed base for striking.
It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1891 and the maker H.C.Richards.
It is good quality and well made, weighing approximately 24g.
It is in good condition with a clear hallmark. There are no major damages and it displays well. There are signs of age and use and some faint surface marks but nothing detrimental and the hinge is strong. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
