Product Details

A good quality sterling silver cruet set in its original fitted case. The set consists of two large salt dishes with twin handles and a mustard pot, each with their original blue glass liners. Each piece has lovely pierced detailing around a shield cartouche and the mustard has a hinged lid. The set comes with 3 spoons which I don't believe are original but suit the set well and are all sterling silver dating from 1898 and 1901.

The three main pieces are fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1897/1898 and the makers J.R.Ltd. The total weight of silver is approximately 159g.

Every piece is in very good condition. There are some minor signs of age and use and there are some faint surface marks and a few light scratches and small dinks but nothing detrimental. The mustard pot hinge is slightly loose but it opens well. They have been lightly cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
The case is good quality with a silk lid lining and a fitted velvet base. The outer of the case is not without some minor signs of age and use and the locking catch does not work but overall it displays well.
