A fine example of a beautiful Victorian Vanity Box with silver plated interior. The outer of the box is made of the finest quality rosewood with brass banding, brass corners and an inlaid brass cartouche. It comes with its original working key.
The box has a fully fitted interior with various glass bottles and pots, some with silver plated lids. There is also a full manicure set with mother of pearl handles and the inner tray lifts out to reveal further storage below. The lid is lined in plush blue velvet and it folds down to reveal its original mirror behind.
The vanity box is excellent quality and in very good condition for its age. There are some signs of age and use and some minor old shrinkage splits in the lid (see photos) but the box has a lovely patina and it displays beautifully. The interior is clean and tidy and there are no major damages to any of the pots or accessories.
