A large Victorian tabletop dinner gong dating from the late 19th Century. It features a brass gong suspended on chain between two impressive cattle horns and it is mounted on an oak base with brass corner pieces. It comes with a wooden handled beater which rests on two brass supports on the base.
It is in good condition for its age and is a very good quality piece. There are some minor signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks and some tarnishing on the brass but nothing detrimental. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and displays very well.
