Victorian Oak Framed Armchair
A good quality Victorian oak framed open armchair dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It is a good comfortable chair with a solid oak frame and deep seat. The arms are supported by turned spindles on nicely carved scrolling ends. It stands on turned front legs and splayed rear legs, terminating in ceramic castors. It is upholstered in an attractive purple fabric that compliments the oak frame.
The chair is approximately 37" (94cm) high, 28" (71cm) wide and 31" (79cm) deep. The seat is approximately 15" (38cm) high.
It is in good condition for its age and is structurally very sound. The upholstery is not new and has some minor marks but no major damages or anything detrimental. The oak frame is very sturdy. It is not without a few small marks here and there and some minor wear to the finish but nothing untoward for a chair of this age.
