A lovely walnut writing desk dating from the late 19th century. It is a stylish piece with an overhanging top and carved brackets below. It has a single drawer with brass handles and stands on tapering turned legs and brass castors. The top has an inset green leatherette writing surface with gilt tooled edging.
It is a nice compact size, perfect as a side table or a small desk.
The desk is in very good condition. It is generally clean and tidy throughout and the writing surface is in good order. The handles are not original but suit the piece well and have been on there some time. The drawer opens well and the desk moves well on its castors. There are normal signs of light wear and age but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully and is ready for use.
