A beautiful oak chest of drawers dating from the mid 19th Century. They have two short over three long drawers and each drawer has its original turned knobs. They stand on large turned bun feet. They are excellent quality and are made from the most lovely golden oak which has developed a lovely warm patina.
They are in good condition for their age and are strong and sturdy. There are of course signs of age and use and they have picked up some small knocks and marks and there has been a repair to a chip on one knob but nothing detrimental or untoward. There are some natural shrinkage splits which have been filled in places and overall they display well. The drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside. There are signs of some historic worm in the back boards which has all been treated as a precaution and doesn't concern us.They have been cleaned and gently polished and are ready for use.
