A beautiful Doulton Lambeth stoneware biscuit barrel, dated 1883. The cylindrical body is decorated in traditional blues and greens with bands of scrolling decoration. It has a silver plated rim with a swing handle and a silver plated lid.
Impressed factory marks and incised artist monogram to the base for Louisa E Edwards.
It is in very good condition with no damages or restoration. There are some minor signs of age and use and some light wear and tarnishing to the plate in places nothing detrimental. There is a small imperfection on the body which looks like some stray paint trapped below the glaze (see photo) but overall it displays well.
