A good quality Victorian copper coal scuttle. It is a traditional helmet shape with a swing handle, a large shaped lip and a handle on the rear. It is very well made from heavy gauge copper with a rolled rim, riveted detail on the handles and a round foot.
It is in good original condition with a lovely patina. There are some minor dinks and dents and signs of age and use and a small split on the hood but no holes or major damages and it displays well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
