A very decorative and unusual ceramic centrepiece modelled as three swans around a central plinth on a naturalistic base. It dates from the mid to late 19th Century and is stamped on the underside for "Bretby". The swans' backs are hollow, perfect for holding flowers and the plinth in the middle would also take an arrangement of flowers or other decorations.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some signs of age and use, some small knocks and a chip on the end of one swan's wing (see photo) but overall there are no major damages and it displays well.
