Victorian Armchair
A good quality country house armchair dating from the late 19th Century. It has a generous deep seat with rounded arms and a gently sloping back, very much in the style of Howard & Sons. It stands on bulbous turned front legs with small brass castors below.
The chair is well made and very comfortable. It has recently had a fitted cover made by Plumbs which is zipped in place and fits the chair snugly. The feather cushion has also been recovered to match.
The chair is in very good condition and is strong and sturdy. There are a few general marks and small knocks around the legs but nothing detrimental. The castors are not original but suit the piece well.
The chair stands approximately 34" (86cm) high, 37" (94cm) deep and 31" (79cm) wide. The seat is 26" (66cm) deep and 15" (38cm) high.
