Product Details

A superb miniature apprentice-made mahogany chest of drawers, dating from the late 19th Century. It is a charming piece with two short over three long drawwers, each with their original turned wooden knobs. The chest itself is made from mahogany and stands on a traditional plinth base. It is very well made and each drawer is beautifully made with hand-cut dovetail joints.

It is signed on the base of the chest "Made by J Kent, August 17 1895".

It is in excellent original condition. The mahogany has a wonderful aged patina and the piece is sturdy and the joints are strong. The drawers are clean and tidy and all open smoothly. There are some general signs of age and use and minor marks and light knocks but nothing detrimental and overall it displays very well.
