A beautiful Victorian boxwood bottle holder with its original glass apothecary bottle. The removable top is threaded and the top is stamped with the maker's name "Gilbertson & Sons. London".
The glass bottle comes with its original glass stopper.
These bottle holders were used by travelling doctors to avoid the possibility of breakage that an unprotected bottle would have been susceptible to.
It is in very good condition for its age and displays well. The wood has developed a beautiful colour and patina through years of use. There are some minor knocks and marks but nothing detrimental and no damages to the glass bottle.
