A lovely antique writing slope dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. The exterior is walnut with two bands of tunbridge style geometric inlay and a brass cartouche.
Inside, the box is fitted with a lovely maroon leather writing surface with a gilt tooled border. It comes with a glass inkwell and there is a pen compartment with lift out top. Both sections of the writing surface lift up to provide extra storage below. It also comes with its original working key.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. There are no major damages to the wood exterior, just some small knocks, some natural old shrinkage splits and a couple of old repairs but nothing detrimental. The interior is clean and tidy.
