Product Details

A nice example of an antique aneroid wall barometer dating from the early to mid 20th Century. It is cased in a bulkhead style mount with glass covering the face. The face reads in millibars and has the makers details on the front "Aneroid Barometer Mark II. Short & Mason London 17016/43".

It has a black arrow pointer which reads the pressure and a red arrow which can be adjusted from the screw in the middle to mark the current pressure and read the change. There is a ring on the top of the case for hanging the barometer on the wall.

The barometer has been painted all over with a dark green paint which looks like it could be military. There are also numbers II 101 on the back beside a military style arrow. The paint has chipped in places and the barometer itself looks to be brass below.

It is in good condition for its age. The glass is clean and has no major surface scratches. The face has some age spots on it and there is some wear around the outer case but nothing untoward and it displays well. It appears to be in working order. I've done 'the bag test' and the pointer certainly moves as it should do.
