Set of 4 Georgian Country Oak Dining Chairs

A good set of 4 Georgian oak dining chairs dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. They have planked seats with high backs and nicely carved splats and they stand on square legs joined by stretchers. They are a lovely country set of chairs whilst also retaining some Georgian elegance.

The chairs stand approximately 36" (91cm) high. The seats are 17 1/4" (44cm) wide, 15" (38cm) deep and 17" (43cm) high.

They are in good original condition with a lovely rich colour. There are signs of age and use with some minor marks, knocks and shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental. The chairs have picked up some old repairs over their lifetime but they are all strong and sturdy. There are some signs of old worm which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the chairs structurally or aesthetically. They have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
