Product Details

A striking set of 4 upholstered dining chairs dating from the late 19th Century. They have oak frames and are typically continental in design. They have square upright backs and stand on carved X-frame legs joined by a central carved stretcher.

They are upholstered in an attractive flocked velvet fabric with a fringed border and armorial crests featuring Fleur de Lys and castles.

The chairs are in good condition and are strong and sturdy. There are some signs of age and use and some small marks and knocks around the frames but no major damages. The upholstery is not new and is starting to show some wear - there are some areas of fraying, fading and some tears and wear in places (see photos) but the chairs have a good look and display well. They are perfectly usable as they are or will serve as good solid frames for re-upholstery.

The chairs stand approximately 35" (89cm) high, 19" (48cm) wide and 16 1/2" (42cm) deep. The seats are approximately 19" (48cm) high.
