Product Details

A good set of 4 country ladderback dining chairs dating from the late 18th Century. They are made from ash with solid elm seats and they have a lovely rich patina. The high ladder backs have shaped top rails and the chairs stand on turned legs with pad feet joined by turned stretchers.

The chairs stand approximately 38 1/2" (98cm) high and are 14" (36cm) deep. The seats are 19" (48cm) wide and 18" (46cm) high.

They are in good original condition with a nice rich colour. They are all strong and sturdy but are showing some signs of age and use with some minor marks and knocks but nothing detrimental. The chairs have picked up some old repairs over their lifetime with one chair in particular having had new feet and a new top rail. There are some signs of old worm which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the chairs structurally or aesthetically. They have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
