Product Details

A lovely regency mahogany music stand dating from the early 19th century. It has a fixed sloping lyre shaped top with brass rods and a rest with two brass pegs. It has scrolling supports and two adjustable brass candle holders fixed either side. It stands on a turned column with triform base and ball feet. The stand is adjustable in height. A small brass handle pulls out and allows for the stand to be moved up and down on a notched ratchet.

It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. There are some signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks and some slight sun fading. There are signs of historic woodworm in the base which has all been treated as a precaution and haven't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically. There have been a few repairs around the base to veneer chips and losses but overall it displays well.
