A beautiful mahogany drop-flap work table dating from the early 19th Century. It is set on ring turned legs with its original brass castors. There are two drawers at one end of the table and matching dummy drawers at the opposite end. Both sets of drawers have brass lions head handles and ebonised borders. The drop leaves are supported by small hinged wooden flaps.
It is in very good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. It has been recently polished and has a lovely rich even colour. The leaves are flat and easy to put up and the drawers open smoothly. There are some signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks here and there and a small shrinkage split across one of the dummy drawers but nothing untoward or detrimental. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
