A good quality and very decorative pair of still life oil paintings dating from the early 20th Century. They are painted on board and depict a study of plums amongst yellow primrose-like flowers and there is a small birds nest with blue eggs in one painting. They are framed in ornate carved wood and gesso gilt frames with gilt slips and the paintings are protected behind glass.
They are not signed but are painted in the manner of Evelyn Chester (1875-1929).
The paintings are in good original condition. The frames have been repainted at some point but they are in good order. There are some minor signs of age and some minor losses and marks but overall they display well.
