A fabulous pair of large fireside Staffordshire dogs dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. They are modelled as standing St Bernard dogs and are good quality examples with glass eyes and gilt collars.
The dogs are in good condition for their age and display well. There are some surface marks, small knocks and the gilding on the collars has rubbed. There are some small stress cracks around the neck and ear of one dog (see photos) but no major damages and nothing that detracts from their overall appearance.
