Product Details
A pair of large brass altar candlesticks dating from the mid 19th century. They are made from heavy cast brass and are excellent quality and very decorative. They stand on three feet with ornate bases, twisted stems and large pierced open baskets. They would have originally has prickets on the top for candles but have been nicely converted to electric with faux drip effect candles and brass bulb holders.
They have been PAT tested and wired to modern standards to take a standard bayonet bulb.
The lamps are in good original condition and display well. They have tarnished over time and have only been lightly polished to retain their beautiful patina. There are some signs of age and use, some minor surface marks and one is missing a small floral piece from around the middle (see photo) but nothing detrimental and there are no major damages.
