ARTURO PETROCELLI (1856 - 1926)
A good quality and very decorative oil painting on board of an old man with a pipe, dating from the early 20th Century. It is signed 'Petrocelli' who was born in Naples and trained under his father Vincenzo.
It is framed in an ebonised frame with gilt beaded border and glass across the painting.
The painting is in good condition. There are signs of age, some minor surface marks and a very small area of damage to the top left corner (see photo) but overall it displays well. There are signs of age and use around the frame and some small chips and losses but nothing detrimental. The painting has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.
