A fine example of a beautifully hand painted large Moorcroft bowl in the popular 'Orchid' design. The bowl displays very well and is unmistakably Moorcroft. The pattern is set on a deep blue background and shows beautiful tubelined flowers in shades of red, purple and white amongst green leaves.
The bowl has an impressed stamp mark with facsimile signature for William Moorcroft along with 'Potter to HM the Queen'. This dates the piece to between 1928-1949.
The bowl is in excellent condition and is a good example of an early Moorcroft piece. There are no chips, cracks or restoration and the colours are bright and vibrant. There are some very light internal surface scratches but nothing major. There is some slight fading around the rim of the bowl and the outer surface as can sometimes be found on older pieces.
