A good example of a particularly large harvest jug dating from the mid to late 19th century, believed to be by Verwood Pottery. It has an earthenware body with a glazed rim and handle in a striking deep yellow colour.
It is in good condition for its age. It is a very rustic piece with natural imperfections in the glaze and a rough surface with fabulous patina. There are some signs of age and use, a few small chips around the top edge and a small chip to the body (see photos) but overall it displays very well.
