A small Japanese Meiji period snuff or pill box made from bronze and brass. Square form with a hinged lid decorated with a traditionally dressed figure on the top and birds on the sides.
It is in good original condition with displays well. The hinges are strong and there are no major damages. There are some general signs of age and use, some small knocks and minor marks but nothing detrimental and it has developed a lovely patina.
