A beautiful antique french mirror dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It is a traditional arched Louis Philippe style with a gilded gesso frame embellished with floral decoration, scrolling corner pieces and an ornate pediment.
The mirror is a particularly large size and would be suitable for use as a mantel mirror, wall hanging or free standing.
It is in good original condition for its age with a sturdy boarded back. The gilding is bright and clean with lovely red undertones where it has worn in places. There are some minor knocks and chips around the edges of the frame but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. The glass has worn in places leaving a wonderfully distressed and aged look across the surface.
