A good example of a Georgian Sterling Silver meat skewer. It has a ring handle with a decorative shell shaped collar below.
The skewer is good quality and made from a heavy gauge silver, weighing approximately 93g. It is clearly hallmarked for London, 1834, Joseph Smith.
It is in good condition with a very clear hallmark. There are no major damages but a possible old repair near the tip (see photo). There are some faint surface scratches and a few light marks but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
