Product Details
A good example of Scottish silver sugar tongs. They are stylish and good quality with elegant scalloped detail to the tongs. There are faintly engraved initials on the top 'E.G'. They are a good size and weight, weighing approximately 46g.
They are clearly hallmarked for Edinburgh and the maker James McKay as well as bearing the Georgian head. The shape of the hallmark narrows down the year to between 1797 - 1822.
They are in good condition for their age. There are no major damages and they display beautifully. There are some faint surface marks commensurate with age but nothing detrimental. They have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
