Georgian Oak Tilt Top Occasional Table
A lovely oak tilt-top table dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. It is a good size with a round planked top set on a turned baluster support with tripod splayed legs. The top is not a perfect circle as seen by the measurements but it looks round to the eye.
It is in very good condition for its age with a lovely patina and the oak has developed a nice warm colour. There are signs of age and use, a few minor marks and knocks on the top surface but nothing detrimental or untoward. It is strong and sturdy and the tilting mechanism is smooth with a firm catch. There are some signs of historic worm in the bottom of the feet which has all been treated as a precaution. The table has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
