Georgian Oak Potboard Dresser
A good example of a Welsh oak dresser dating from the early 19th century. The base has three drawers with brass swan neck handles and an open potboard base. The rack has three shelves with many of its original hooks and the original wide backboards. It is a good quality piece with nicely carved fretwork below the drawers and shaped supports.
It is in good condition throughout and displays beautifully. It is not without signs of age and use but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. There are some old marks and stains on the top surface, some small knocks and a few old repairs but nothing detrimental and no major damages. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open smoothly. There are some signs of historic woodworm in places which has all been treated as a precaution. The dresser has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
