A large Georgian oak dresser base dating from the late 18th Century. It has an arrangement of five drawers and two cupboards. Each drawer has pierced brass plate handles and the cupboards have brass knobs. It is a well made piece with plenty of country charm and the oak has a wonderful patina.
It is in good condition for its age and it is strong and sturdy. The drawers and cupboards are generally clean and tidy and open smoothly. There are of course some signs of age and use - some minor knocks and various old marks on the top surface, some minor shrinkage splits and some old repairs but nothing untoward or detrimental. There are some signs of old woodworm in places which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the dresser structurally or aesthetically. It has been cleaned and given a gentle wax and polish and is ready for use.
