Georgian Oak Clerks Desk
A charming Georgian oak clerk’s desk dating from the late 18th century. It has a sloped front with a small lip near the bottom to support papers or documents and it comes with its original working key. The top lifts up to reveal a series of small pigeon holes and 3 small drawers.
It is in good condition and has developed a wonderful rich patina over the years. There are general signs of age and use, small old knocks and marks but no major damages and the piece is strong and sturdy. The interior is generally clean and tidy and has been lined at some point. There are some signs of old woodworm in places which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
