A lovely oak chest of drawers dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. It is made of solid oak and has two short over three long drawers, each with brass swan neck handles. The top has a moulded edge and the chest stands on bracket feet. The oak has a lovely patina and it has the feel of a rustic country piece whilst having the clean elegant lines of this style of Georgian chest.
It is in good condition for its age and it is strong and sturdy. The drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside. It has picked up various small knocks, marks and signs of age and use but no major damages. There have been a couple of old repairs to the top moulding and there are some old shrinkage splits in the top but overall it displays well. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
