A lovely Georgian candle box dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. It is made of oak with a nicely inlaid diamond motif on the front. It is a tapering shape with a hinged lid and a raised fretwork gallery with hanging hole.
It is in good condition for its age with a lovely patina. There are signs of age and use, a few small knocks and marks and a good old repair to the corner of the fretwork (see photo) but no major damages. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and displays well.
